Penn State - Supervisory Workshop (Copy)

These workshops are highly interactive and taught by Penn State professionals with real world experience that have their pulse on the needs of today’s work environment. Share your experiences with others in all occupations while you explore supervisory topics to help in your workplace, career, and personal life in this four-week program.

Workshop Topics:

  • Managing Time and Priorities - March 26

    Master Time Management: In this module, you’ll learn to value your time, maximize your productivity, and focus on achieving your key goals and priorities.

  • Solving Problems - April 2

    Learn tools for defining problems, analyzing data, and generating alternative actions. Application exercises are designed to help supervisors solve the various problems they face on a daily basis.

  • Resolving Conflicts - April 9

    Understand the nature and causes of interpersonal conflict and develop resolution skills. Review potential outcomes and engage in exercises for positive resolutions. Application activities increase awareness of typical conflict responses and guide analysis of current conflict situations.

  • Supervising Projects - April 16

    Build an understanding of projects and key supervision activities. This module defines basics, introduces the Project Mastery Cycle™, and demonstrates essential tools for planning, coordinating, and monitoring. Engage in learning activities to gain experience in project planning and problem reduction

If you are working towards a Penn State Supervision Essentials Certificate, all participants must take these four workshops towards the 16 modules workshop requirement.
