Department of Labor & Industry Deputy Secretary for Workforce Development Eileen Cipriani was in Wayne County yesterday to help launch the new Teacher in the Workplace program. Cipriani, and several local educators, got a firsthand look at Moka Origins, the specialty coffee and chocolate factory on Bethany Turnpike, just north of Honesdale. The program enables teachers to visit local employers and learn about the skills and knowledge students need to succeed in the workplace. Teachers use that experience to develop lessons that teach their students the skills they need for in-demand jobs. Earlier this year, Governor Wolf announced nearly $2.6 million in Teacher in the Workplace grants supporting 59 programs in Pennsylvania.
