Empower Her - An Initiative To Help Women In STEM

Wayne Pike Workforce Alliance is excited to announce a grant from Women in Philanthropy in the amount of $3000 to fund our new initiative, Empower Her.

Empower Her is a pioneering program designed to foster participation and advancement of women in STEAM fields.

Offering comprehensive curriculum tailored to the needs and interests of women in STEAM. This includes academic coursework, mentorships, networking opportunities, and career advancement support such as resume writing, interview skills, and job placement assistance.

EmpowerHer is not just a program; it's a lifeline for women aspiring to pursue careers in STEAM fields. It's a comprehensive initiative designed to empower women by providing them with the necessary tools and support to succeed in traditionally male-dominated industries.

In our region, accessibility and affordability of childcare are major barriers for women, particularly those pursuing careers in STEAM fields. Through partnerships with licensed childcare providers, EmpowerHer participants have access to affordable childcare services, enabling them to balance their academic and professional pursuits with their family responsibilities.

Resolving Generaltional Conflict

Resolving Generaltional Conflict

Traditionalists, Baby Boomers, Gen Xers, Millennials, and Post Millennials are the five generational groups active in the workplace today.  Each has vastly different work styles and priorities.  The synergy created by such diversity can drive organizations to new levels of success, but the conflict that can arise among members of the groups can hamper business development and profitability.  This workshop will compare the characteristics of the various groups and offer employment and marketing tactics for businesses seeking to engage younger workers.
